MY PITCH PERSONALITY TEST
The Colour Works is a people development organisation that helps individuals and teams improve communication, collaboration, and performance. They use a simple colour-based personality framework grounded in psychology to build self-awareness and understanding in the workplace.
Their personality test is a short online questionnaire that identifies preferences across four colour energies: Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue. The results highlight your natural strengths, communication style, and how you work with others, supporting more effective teamwork and leadership.
WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW MY PITCH PERSONALITY?
We have introduced The Colour Works personality profile into our Pitch Academy to identify areas of natural strengths and expertise you will find within a diverse team.
By doing the Colour Works personality test, you will gain a better understanding of yourself and your team, leading to improved communication, stronger working relationships and an increase in personal effectiveness.
Please ensure you have done your personality test and identified your colour before starting the Pitch Lab.
oRGANISING A PITCH TEAM BASED ON PERSONALITIES
By referring to your team’s Colour Works personality types, you can effectively leverage your time so each individual excels in areas they are naturally inclined in.
See each tile below to reveal the characteristics of each personality type:
For example, Sunshine Yellows are outgoing and like people to be engaging and interactive, therefore, they would be great at giving a perspective into presenting to a client. They tend to fear disapproval so any feedback on their work would be best to give one-on-one.
A Cool Blue may seem to be unengaged with the team and work, however, this is most likely not the case and they just have a more formal personality type. They would be great in ensuring work is concise, logical and deliberate as that is how they best make their decisions.
Fiery Reds will strive in driving and leading the pitch. If they start dictating during the project, this just means they are feeling the pressure and may need reassurance or a break.
Earth Greens would be a great person to ensure the group are getting on well and there is a general positivity within the team setup. They tend to feel overburdened which is a common problem during a pitch process, so it will be best to check in on Earth Greens during the pitch process.
The above shows that working with a team of different personalities can seem overwhelming. However, by knowing each personality type and keeping open communication on these, you can ensure that the same team can be super successful and thrive to produce an excellent piece of work.
